Psychotherapist in Brooklyn, New York

Individual therapy

This process is completely collaborative. You control the pace - we won’t go anywhere nor do anything that you’re not ready for. However, I will invite you to push yourself. You will be surprised by what you are capable of.

We will be curious about who you are and how your relationships, your family, your community, and your identities have shaped you. We will use various techniques to develop and strengthen your resources. You may also have experiences, big and small, that have become stuck in your memories in an unhelpful way. These memories may cause you to feel emotionally or physically unsafe or frustrated that it continues to burden you in the present. We may use a technique called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), to process the experiences. The results can include feeling healed from the pain and having a new relationship with the memory, one of empowerment, compassion, and safety.

couples & Family Therapy

Similarly to how I work with individuals, I encourage couples and families to be curious about their stuck patterns, help themselves and each other take responsibility for moving the barriers that keep them stuck, and to do so with love, compassion, and new skills we cultivate together.  Together we will use evidence-based tools, tailoring them to your specific needs.

I will encourage you all to take risks to develop greater intimacy and a more vibrant relationship, where you heal old wounds and all show up as our best selves contributing to each other’s growth.
